SSK ZPro Reserve Wood Baseball Bats can be ordered with either Pro Maple or Pro Birch. Our Maple is North American Maple from Pennsylvania, which is maple from the hardwood capital of the world! Our Pro Birch is North American Birch and over the last 20 years has continued to grow in popularity. Maple Bats are typically stiffer compared to Birch which is more flexible and forgiving while Maple has a more solid pop feel and Birch has more of a trampoline effect.

Bat billets are traditionally dried for 1 week, but at SSK, our billets are dried for 6 months before the bat making process begins. This extended drying process provides more flexibility in the bat, while ensuring ultimate hardness in the wood. At SSK we use a unique vacuum drying process which allows the whole bat to evenly and consistently dried. This means more pop.
